Her journey to world recognition began in 2020 when Cameron (21-1, 8 KOs) defeated Adriana Dos Santos Araujo of Brazil by decision at the Marshall Arena during the pandemic. Subsequent wins against Mary McGee and Jessica McCaskill solidified her status as the undisputed champion.
In 2023, Cameron achieved a landmark defense of her undisputed title, making history as the first fighter to defeat the renowned Katie Taylor (25-1, 6 KOs). Yet, the narrative shifted dramatically six months later when Taylor avenged her loss in a highly anticipated rematch, reclaiming the championship from Cameron.
Following these events, Cameron secured the WBC interim championship by defeating Elhem Mekhaled and successfully defended it against Patricia Berghult and Jessica Camara. Meanwhile, Taylor engaged in two victorious bouts against the formidable Amanda Serrano.

Nevertheless, a recent announcement by Most Valuable Promotions, with whom the 34-year-old Cameron signed in May, revealed that she has instead been elevated to full WBC super-lightweight world champion. Most Valuable Promotions expressed their excitement, stating that Cameron`s ascent to the WBC Super Lightweight World Champion title, following Taylor`s Champion in Recess designation, signifies her continued pioneering role in women`s boxing, with plans to showcase her next fight. MVP reiterated their commitment to supporting Chantelle as a two-time world champion and pledged to organize captivating events to highlight her reign and the pinnacle of women`s boxing.
The current status regarding Sandy Ryan is uncertain; it is not yet clear whether she withdrew from the vacant title fight or if she remains a contender for Cameron’s inaugural title defense.
